2020 Bid Projects

Below is a listing of the current projects out for bid for the Department of Public Works, College Township.  Please contact Linda Magro at lmagro@collegetownship.org or 814-231-3021 extension 2106 for a copy of the bid package. College Township is happy to make bids and results available following a bid opening by posting them to this web site. However, an award is not final until College Township Council, at their next regularly scheduled meeting, approves the bid award. This section of the website will indicate on each job whether a bid has been approved by Council or if it is awaiting Council's review and award.

Aggregate Materials
College Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania

Sealed bids will be received for 20-03 Aggregate Material at the College Township Municipal Office, 1481 East College Avenue, State College, PA. 16801 until 10:00 AM local time on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. The project is for the supply of aggregate material for source pickup.

Bidding documents may be examined at the College Township Municipal Office between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:30 P.M. Monday-Friday. Prospective bidders may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents free of charge upon request by calling the Township office at (814) 231-3021 during the hours indicated above. The documents are available electronically or in-person pick-up.

Bids must be upon the forms provided by College Township and enclosed in a sealed envelope clearly marked “20-03 Aggregate Material”. Each proposal must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of Ten Percent (10%) of the bid amount made payable to College Township.

The College Township Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Award of the contract is anticipated to occur at Council’s regular scheduled meeting to be held on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 7:00 PM.

CURRENT BIDS

Granite Lane Improvements Contract 20-12

College Township is accepting sealed bids for Granite Lane Improvements, Contract No. 20-12.  Bids will be received at the College Township Municipal Offices at 1481 East College Avenue, State College, PA 16801 until 4:00 PM on September 14, 2020.  All bids must be in a sealed envelope clearly marked "Bid for Granite Lane Improvements, Contract No. 20-12."  If the Bid is sent through the mail or other delivery system, the sealed envelope shall be enclosed in a separate envelope with the notation "BID ENCLOSED" on the face of it.  Please mail Bids to College Township at 1481 East College Avenue, State College, PA 16801. Bids will be opened shortly after 4:00 PM on September 14, 2020.

Prospective bidders may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents free of charge upon request by calling College Township at 814-231-3021 or by e-mailing the Township office at lmagro@collegetownship.org.  The Bidding Documents will be delivered electronically through e-mail.  When requesting bidding documents provide contact person’s name, phone number, and email address

The Contract includes: Clearing and grubbing, placement of fill, construction of concrete sidewalk, ADA ramps, and curbing, placement of bituminous base course, and wearing surface at driveway expansion.

Bid security must be provided at the time of bid submission in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price made payable to College Township in the form of a certified or bank check or a bid bond issued by an accepted surety and executed by the bidder. 

Project is subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act.  A copy of the Prevailing Wage Determination is included in the bidding documents.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the College Township Municipal Building on September 3, 2020, at 3:00 PM.  Note that due to COVID-19 occupancy restrictions we request that bidders limit the number of attendees.

College Township reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any bidding informalities.  Award of the contract is anticipated to occur at Council’s regular scheduled meeting to be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020.
